Gernot Buchegger, MA

Gernot Buchegger and his wife Barbara adopted their dog, Abbey, from the Svilos animal shelter in April 2022. They visited the animal shelter in Serbia several times and got to know the Animal Care Austria’s on-site shelter work. The decision to welcome Abbey into their family changed their lives forever in the best and most beautiful way.

Gernot was very moved by Animal Care Austria’s commitment and decided to commit himself, as well. to the ACA team to promote the rescues in shelter in supporting them and helping them to find loving, forever homes. Ever since Abbey moved in with the Bucheggers, they have known the love and gratitude of an animal welfare dog.

Gernot Buchegger is the press spokesman for the President of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Labour. Working for those who need help is a clear thing for him - for employees, and also now for the protection and rescue of dogs. He is happy to volunteer his time and abilities to support ACA.
